Folk music and dance of Hungary in Krakow's Philharmonic Hall
It was a surprising evening - the title on the poster read: Budapest ballet and orchestra - what could you expect?
For sure not the regional dances and a chamber orchestra - mainly strings, clarinetto and two cymbals - in the centre of the stage. A lot of improvisation skills and five dancing pairs dressed probably characteristically for the particular regions of Hungary. Rythm, team work and exceptional dance by girls only with the bottles on the heads called szirmai.

Italian Tounge Twisters
One of our project tasks was to deal with some tounge twisters from Italy and Hungary. We decided to make it more interesting and I've come up with an idea to record our struggles with the Italian ones. So I grabbed my camera, told my friends to choose one tounge twister and... light, camera, action! I hope we've managed to imitate them quite well.

Collegium Maius Hungarian and Italian links
I have also attended the symposium for 3 days the topic of which was "Modality and transmodality - text-image-music" organised by Jagiellonian University. What was the most intriguing part beyond the lectures was a trip inside Collegium Maius - the oldest part of the Uni with the memorabilia as old as those from Copernicus times but also connected with the 100 anniversary of Poland's regaining independence like the ink pot from the second in the world Constitution signing from 1793 or the bunch of Tadeusz Kosciuszko's hair who organised the uprising n 1794 - the last before the division of Poland into 3 parts (and no Poland on the map during 123 years afterwards).
This is a short review of the trip with Hedwig (1st photo - the Queen with her husband King Ladislaus Jagiello - biggest paintings) who was a Hungary related Polish Queen with predominant role in keeping the University at work during her reign; swieta-jadwiga

As I was looking for articles about her I came across the one (written in the year of her 500th annniversary of birth) that showed the table I would like to copy here for the purpose of the language innovations : Bona Sforza facts.

Meeting with the Hungarian professor Aron Petneki
The review of the meeting is going to be described by some of our e-twinners (photographed below).
I just want to let you know that the Matejko's 125 anniversary of death and 180 anniversary of birth is the reason why the meeting with someone whose live is dedicated to Polish-Hungarian relations and Matejko's paintings receiving in Hungary was so special. Additionally he was described as one who had lectured on the University in Miskolc (among others)!
Here is the review by Kasia Wawrzyk.

Polish teachers at Majdanek
Four teachers from Zeromski High School in Kielce, me included, took part in the methodological training "Tell about us, the nameless..." organised by the State Museum at Majdanek in Lublin. We were learning how to teach you, students, history through visits to post-camp memorial sites.
