Folk music and dance of Hungary in Krakow's Philharmonic Hall

It was a surprising evening - the title on the poster read: Budapest ballet and orchestra - what could you expect?

For sure not the regional dances and a chamber orchestra - mainly strings, clarinetto and two cymbals - in the centre of the stage. A lot of improvisation skills and five dancing pairs dressed probably characteristically for the particular regions of Hungary. Rythm, team work and exceptional dance by girls only with the bottles on the heads called szirmai.

As for the Hungarian day (by the way it coincided with 62 nd anniversary of the Uprising in Budapest in 1956) - you may see few photos below.
