Lady with en Ermine - exhibition visited in National Museum i Krakow

Hello, hopefully my students would write about it a word or two but as usual - quick note about the short visit.
We managed to see the painting and I think most surprising for the group was the fact that she - Cecilia Gallerani - was only 17 years old when she came to Milan Court in 1489 so ... the age of most of you, e-twinning students!

 Also the fashion at the time was ....surprising :0 Lidka even said that the hairstyle of was a little bit strange to be curling below the neck in an uncommon way. We could read that it is Milan's fashion 'alla spagnola' style. And that the Ermine referred to the Neapolitan Order (of Ermine)Duke Sforza was decorated with - you might remember Sforza somehow from ...Bona, mightn't you?
The portrait seems to be one of the first psychological portraiture and "is considered a breakthrough accomplishment in modern portraiture displayed in Washington at the exhibition which presented the most important human achievements in the Age of Discovery" .
The rest - the emotions , attitude, thoughts and knowledge about the painting - from my students.
National Museum Krakow Leonardo is here;
And one additional thing:  'Da Vinci not only developed his skill in drawing, painting and sculpting during his apprenticeship, but through others working in and around the studio, he picked up knowledge in such diverse fields as mechanics, carpentry, metallurgy, architectural drafting and chemistry. "
