Touching and memorable visit in Majdanek, Lublin

We, students of I LO in Kielce, went to Majdanek Concentration Camp in Lublin.

We wanted to learn more about something so important in World’s history and main subject of our project - Holocaust. A 4 hour long lesson and workshops in Majdanek was full of unbelievable facts and emotions. To see the place where so many people from our entire continent were hurt was so painful and touching for ourselves, but very informative and valuable too. After seeing museum and whole place we had been working in groups, describing exhibits and wondering about their stories. Some of them were really incredible and breathtaking.

Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum study visit

Students from Krakow visited the Remembrance Place in Auschwitz -Birkenau former Nazi Camp.

They spent time not  only to listen to the main facts connected with the place but also participated in an hour and a half workshops devoted to the group of more than 400 000 Hungarian Jews who died there. The pictures and impressions are submitted to the Holocaust padlet- follow the posts if you wish and add yours if you happen to be in such a place.

Hungary 1918 lecture

Hello,
Weronika is going to write about the content of the lecture itself but we had a guest from Warsaw in the International Culture Centre in Krakow - the diplomat historian who gave us some idea about how Hungary as a country functioned especially after Trianon Treaty.

Befana in our school

Before the Christmas break we learned that children in Italy get presents from Befana, not Santa Claus! Befana is a fairytale old lady who can fly on a broom. She gives away the gifts at night from 5 to 6 of January. Italian children believe that if they aren't polite, they will get coal, ash, onions or garlic.

Lady with en Ermine - exhibition visited in National Museum i Krakow

Hello, hopefully my students would write about it a word or two but as usual - quick note about the short visit.
We managed to see the painting and I think most surprising for the group was the fact that she - Cecilia Gallerani - was only 17 years old when she came to Milan Court in 1489 so ... the age of most of you, e-twinning students!

Reviews of Amadeus by Milos Forman

As we all know Mozart was not only a composer and gifted instrumentalist but also a traveller.
Probably you have heard about his trips to Italy - if not - have  a look here Wiki Mozart in Italy

There is also an exercise for you to do - and the reading passage.
Find a mistake in a line - some of them are correct.
